Educational Qualification
- Bachelor’s Degree from a recognised Indian University or an approved Foreign University
Age Limit (as on 01 January 2025)
- Minimum Age: 21 years
- Maximum Age: 42 years
- Date of Birth: Between 02 January 1983 and 01 January 2004
Age Relaxation:
- SC / ST / SEBC / Women / Ex-Servicemen: 5 years
- PwD (40% or more disability): 10 years (cumulative where applicable)
Odia Language Requirement
Candidate must have passed Odia as a subject or medium at school level as prescribed in the notification.

Selection Process
The Odisha Civil Services Examination consists of:
Stage 1 – Preliminary Examination
- 2 Objective-type papers (200 marks each)
- GS Paper-II is qualifying (33%)
- Negative marking: 1/3 mark deducted per wrong answer
Stage 2 – Main Examination
- 9 Papers (Written)
- 2 Qualifying Language Papers (Odia & English)
- 7 Merit Papers (Essay, GS-I to GS-IV, Optional-I & II)
Stage 3 – Interview / Personality Test
- 250 marks
- Final merit based on Main Exam + Interview
