Eligibility Criteria
- Candidate must have passed Matriculation from a recognised education board.
- Punjabi must be passed at Matric level as a compulsory/elective subject or equivalent as per Punjab Civil Services (General and Common Conditions of Service) Rules, 1994.
- Educational qualification certificates must be issued on or before the last date of application.
- Candidate must satisfy all reservation, domicile and category conditions claimed in the online form.
Age Limit (as on 01-01-2025)
- Minimum Age: 18 years (all categories).
- Maximum Age for General Category: 37 years.
- Maximum Age for SC / BC of Punjab: 42 years.
- Maximum Age for Punjab State and Central Government employees: 45 years.
- Upper age for Ex‑Servicemen of Punjab: as per Punjab Recruitment of Ex‑Servicemen Rules, 1982 (age after deducting military service must not exceed upper limit by more than 3 years).
- Maximum Age for Persons with Disabilities (PwD) of Punjab: 47 years (10 years relaxation).
- Upper age for widows, divorcees and certain other categories of married women: up to 40 years as per Govt. instructions dated 23.04.1984.
Salary / Stipend
- All Group‑D posts (Sewadar, Chowkidar, Sweeper‑cum‑Chowkidar, Safai Sevak, Sweeper‑cum‑Mali, Mali‑cum‑Chowkidar, Fisherman, Boatman, Laboratory Attendant) carry pay scale ₹18,000 – 56,900, Level‑1 as per 7th CPC.
- Pay, allowances and other benefits will be admissible as per instructions of the Finance Department (Personnel‑I Branch), Govt. of Punjab issued from time to time.

Selection Process
- The selection will be based on an Objective Type (Multiple Choice Questions) written examination.
- Syllabus and exam pattern will be uploaded separately on the official website of PSSSB.
- Admit Cards for the written exam will be available only in online mode on the Board’s website; no separate intimation by post.
- Final merit list will be prepared purely on the basis of marks obtained in the written examination.
- In case of tie in written marks, older candidate (by date of birth) will be placed higher in merit; if still tied, higher percentage in essential qualification will be considered; if still tied, higher Matric marks will be considered.
- Shortlisted candidates as per merit will be called for counselling and document verification as per category‑wise vacancies.
- Recommendation to the concerned department will be made only for those candidates who are found fully eligible in document verification.
How to Apply
- Visit the official website of PSSSB: https://sssb.punjab.gov.in and click on the “Online Applications” link.
- Apply online only from 21-11-2025 to 27-12-2025 up to 5:00 PM; no other mode of application will be accepted.
- For each post, submit a separate online application form and pay separate fee if applying for more than one post.
- First select the post, then complete registration by entering basic details and educational details; a username/registration number will be generated.
- Login again using registration details and fill the application form step‑by‑step, upload passport‑size photograph, signature and required educational certificates (Matric with date of birth, 10+2, diploma/degree as applicable).
- Submit the online application form; fee can be paid from the next working day after form submission up to 29-12-2025.
- Pay exam fee through SBI challan at any branch, or through Net Banking / Credit Card / Debit Card / UPI as available.
- After successful fee payment, download and print the final submitted application form and keep it safely for future reference.
- No correction will be allowed after final submission of the online application form.
Instructions
Candidates must apply only through the official website; applications by any other mode will be rejected. Candidates are solely responsible for the correctness of information entered in the online form; no change in category, category‑code or other particulars will be allowed later. All educational qualifications and category certificates must be valid and issued by recognised Boards/Universities/Authorities as per Punjab Government instructions. Reservation benefits are admissible only to domiciled residents of Punjab having valid domicile/residence certificates and relevant caste/category certificates. Incomplete applications, applications without required fee, or without uploading mandatory documents will be rejected. No TA/DA will be paid for appearing in the written examination or counselling/document verification. All recruitment‑related updates such as exam schedule, admit card, result, merit list, counselling schedule and corrigendum will be displayed only on the official website; no separate letters will be sent. If any document or information is found false at any stage, candidature will be cancelled and legal action may be initiated as per rules. The Board reserves the right to change, modify or cancel any terms, number of vacancies, or selection stages as per requirement.
