Assam Police Recruitment 2026: The State Level Police Recruitment Board (SLPRB Assam) has released the official notification for the recruitment of 274 Grade IV staff posts including Cook, Barber, Water Carrier, Dhobi, Cobbler, Plumber, and others under Assam Police, Assam Commando Battalions, and DGCD & CGHG.

Eligibility Criteria

Citizenship & Residency

• Must be a citizen of India and permanent resident of Assam
• Must be registered with local Employment Exchange
• Must speak Assamese or any other state language fluently

Educational Qualification

• Grade IV Staff (Cook, Barber, Water Carrier, Dhobi, Cobbler, Plumber): Class VIII to HSSLC (Class XII)
• Tailor & Dresser: HSLC/Class X + relevant trade certificate/experience
• Nurse: Diploma in General Nursing & Midwifery (GNM)
• Craft Instructor: HSLC + certificate in Bamboo & Cane work/Tailoring/Weaving/Soap making
• Craft Helper: HSLC + 1-month certificate in Carpentry from ITI
• Yoga Instructor & Instructress: HS + Diploma in Yoga
• Pharmacist: Diploma in Pharmacy + Registration under Assam Pharmacy Council

Experience

• Post-specific experience/training is required for Cook, Barber, Dhobi, Cobbler, Plumber, Tailor, Dresser, and other specialized posts.
• Training certificates from recognized institutions or minimum 1–2 years of work experience are accepted depending on the post.

Selection Process

1. Medical Examination
2. Physical Standard Test (PST) – Qualifying in nature
3. Trade Proficiency Test (TPT) – 50 marks (33% qualifying)
4. Identity Verification – Admit Card + Aadhaar/Voter ID/Driving Licence
5. Biometric Verification – Before PST & TPT and at exit
6. Final Merit List – Based on TPT marks; tie-breakers: age → height

How to Apply Online

1. Register on SLPRB Assam portal with valid mobile number and Employment Exchange ID.
2. Login using Application ID and DOB.
3. Select post preferences and fill personal and academic details.
4. Upload documents: photo, signature, age proof, educational certificates, training/experience certificates, Aadhaar, caste certificate (if applicable).
5. Generate OTP and download acknowledgment slip.
6. Edit Option: Available for 5 days after submission (subject to approval).
